Podcasts for Pregnancy and Parenthood
I don't know about you, but I love podcasts. Especially after having kids I found it a great way to stay connected to the outside world and to learn new things. Here I've compiled some of my favorite shows and highlighted episodes that focus on pregnancy and parenthood. Enjoy!
The Birth Hour
"The Birth Hour helps expecting and new mothers understand their birthing options through authentic birth stories so they are informed and empowered going into pregnancy, birth and postpartum."
Dear Sugar
"Hosted by the original Sugars, Cheryl Strayed and Steve Almond, Dear Sugar Radio fields all your questions — no matter how deep or dark — and offers radical empathy in return." Check out their episodes about whether or not to have a baby, the guilt of motherhood, and moms who hate motherhood.
The Longest Shortest Time
"The Longest Shortest Time is a bold, daring podcast about parenthood in all of its forms. But you don’t need to be a parent to listen. We tell stories about the surprises and absurdities of raising other humans—and being raised by them."
Radiolab
"Radiolab is a show about curiosity. Where sound illuminates ideas, and the boundaries blur between science, philosophy, and human experience." Check out their episodes about sperm, finding peace after the death of a child, and the life of a baby born at 23 weeks.
Science Vs
"Science Vs takes on fads, trends, and the opinionated mob to find out what’s fact, what’s not, and what’s somewhere in between." Check out their episodes on abortion and attachment parenting.
