20 Things You Can Do Right Now to Improve Your Mood
Whether you are a working mother, or stay home with your children, it can be almost impossible to find ways to practice self-care, and life with young kids is when we need it most. I wanted to create a list of things that only require what is already available in your home, take almost no time to complete, and (some of which) can be done while holding a baby or hanging out with toddlers.
1. Drink a glass of water.
2. Do 10 jumping jacks.
3. Make plans to see a friend.
3. Turn on music.
4. Listen to a podcast.
5. Wash your face.
6. Brush your teeth.
7. Hold a stretch for 30 seconds.
8. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and think about something you're grateful for.
9. Put a bra on, or take one off.
10. Have a nutritious snack.
11. Step outside.
12. Take a short walk.
13. Put on an "real" outfit, or change into comfy clothes.
14. Take a break from your phone.
15. Do a breath of joy.
16. Look up your favorite karaoke song on YouTube and sing your heart out.
17. Make a cup of tea.
18. Make your bed.
19. Take a bath (with your child if necessary!)
20. Make a plan for your day or week.
